If you’re a Marketing student or graduate and looking to specialise in the fashion sector. Sydney is on of the worlds hot spots for fashion. This designer is one of the up and coming in Sydney and you will learn how they market their high end garments internationally.

Company Description

Fashion Designer which wholesales to 12 and growing boutiques in Australia.

Also sells through destination markets such as ‘Paddington Markets’ as well as ‘Pop-Up’s shops.

The business commenced in April 2006 after the our founder graduated from Fashion and Textiles at University of Technology Sydney with a grant won in competition from Australian Business Ltd. She was previously a finalist in the Lancôme Colour Design Awards and both a winner and runner-up in the Ella Bache styling awards.

She has shown at both L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival and Rosemount Australian Fashion Week (Sydney) in 2010.

The business is looking to grow effectively and sustainably, ie to avoid negative impact on the quality of the product and service standards while selling higher volumes through more outlets.

We will only work with proven suppliers demonstrating outstanding ethics and environmental awareness / credentials.

Intern Duties

Sales & Marketing

Existing Clients:

  • Contact by phone or in person to check that boutique is happy with product and garner end-user (customer) feedback on what they like / dislike about us as well as other fashion trends and micro-trends.
  • Create and administer a monthly e-mail tailored to address existing stockists giving them an update on the Publicity that the garments / brand received in that period inclcuding scanned copies for their re-use. Draft message on behalf of our company an update on where designer is going next with ranges and thereby get a chance to seek their feedback on how that will match their buying expectations / customer requirements.

Prospective Clients:

  • Research target stockists (boutiques) in Europe and North America, ie who they stock, contact details.
  • Create suitable (multi-lingual) promotional materials.
  • Design a simple process ‘campaign’ to contact targets in a professional and methodical manner.
  • Registering the results to funnel the targets into further actions, ranging from ‘do not call’ to ‘send samples/take order’ etc enabling other staff to pick-up the latter steps.

Other admin & support duties might involve small amounts of data-entry, handling courier deliverables and receiveables.

Requires an entrepreneurial, self-starter who relishes a challenge and is willing and able to help a rapidly growing small company instill effectiveness and discipline into key sales and PR processes.
