For Universities and Placement Tutors
More and more universities are looking at opportunities to give their students experience in the global market place. The Global Horizons report published in 2007 encourages universities to focus on study abroad and international work placements as ways to give their students international experience that employers are demanding.
Intern Options are your knowledge base on Australian and New Zealand work placements. We are happy for our staff to visit your university and talk to a group of students interested in undertaking their internship abroad. Please see below on University Talk
Benefits of working with Intern Options

All our staff have worked, lived and studied in Australia or New Zealand so know first-hand what your students will encounter on their internship. We can answer the questions your students will be asking you on Australia and New Zealand.

How we can work with Placement Tutors/ Advisors/ Co-ordinators

We are always looking for advice from you on how we can improve our service. We always ask students applying who their placement tutor/ co-ordinator is and if they are happy for us to keep them in the loop.

If you have suggestions on improving our service we would be very interested to talk to you about this.

Sign up to our monthly Placement Tutor newsletter where we keep you up to date on Australia and New Zealand. We also talk about the questions we are getting asked by students and how we are answering these.

University Credit

Our Australian Internships are customised to each student’s needs, we are happy to incorporate whatever they need to complete in order to gain university credit for their internship. However it is the responsibility of the student in co-operation with their placement advisor or lecturer to ensure the requirements for credit are met.

When a student sends in their application and CV we ask for a cover letter that includes their learning objectives. These learning objectives will be discussed with the employer and will be incorporated into the training agreement between the employer and the student.

University talks

Intern Options are happy to visit your university or institute to talk through the opportunities available in Australia and New Zealand for your students. We can provide all the information they will need to evaluate against other placement opportunities they are considering in the UK and abroad.

We are also happy to send a staff member to your university to talk to a group of placement tutors/ advisors/ co-ordinators. We can give your university placement tutors/ co-ordinators the information they need to accurately inform their students on the opportunity of travelling to Australia and New Zealand for a work placement. Alternatively if you would like input into how work placements could be enhanced, or how your students could be looked after better by us or other providers then please get in contact
