This Waikato based farm is located on the Hamilton to Raglan Highway, just 20kms out of the city. The property is approximately 40 acres of lush farmland bordered by a stream on three sides and containing several dams. It is only a 10 minute drive away from Raglan, one of NZ’s finest surf beaches and a cool little town itself.

The facilities provided include a 20×60 Flexi-tred (rubber and sand mix) arena, 6 large loose boxes in our American Barn stable complex, and safe turn out paddocks. There are quiet roads and rolling land for hacking, show jumps and free-jumping facilities on site, plus a bark surfaced Round Pen for breaking in and lunging. A full Cross-Country course from pre-training thru to Novice Horse Trails height is available only 5 kms away, and the beaches at Raglan are great for hacking out and fitness work.

We offer training for both horses and riders, plus sale on behalf and a buyers service. We stand three stallions at stud and breed a small number of horses each year to sell on behalf and keep for ourselves.

This position will pay an allowance that will be discussed after viewing your CV, but will be around NZ$100 per week and the position includes free accommodation and board so your living costs will be very low.

Duties

The duties at this sport horse farm will be varied and include general duties like cleaning, grooming, exercising horses as well as general chores around the farm as necessary. You will need to be the kind of person who like to get stuck in and get their hands dirty as well as having fun and enjoying one of New Zealand’s most beautiful areas.
