What are you most looking forward to in Australia?

Where do i start?! I am so excited to experience every aspect of Australia! Waking up to go for a morning surf and experience the golden beaches, socialise in the well renowned coffee shops, and of course participate in beating the Aussies at a game of cricket!!

From a more serious perspective, I am relishing the chance to adapt to the Australian culture and I am really excited about the business internship I am going to partake in.

What do you hope to achieve/ learn on your internship?

I hope to learn a detailed insight into the day to day running of a successful company, where I can use my academic knowledge to fulfill my potential in a hands on approach. Relative work experience is vital in society today and I hope to learn and develop critical skills in order to further my career. I hope to achieve excellence in any task put in front of me, to prove to myself I have what it takes to be a success.

What do you think this internship/ placement will add to your CV?

I believe an internship abroad will add the ability to see business and personal issues from another cultural perspective. This will enable me to adapt to changes and have valuable skill sets that other home graduates wouldn’t have.

Why are you travelling to Australia for your internship?

I am traveling to Australia for my Internship because it’s a country I have always wanted to experience. Ranging from the tourist attractions such as the Sydney Harbour, to experiencing the golden beaches and watching the Melbourne Storm!

How jealous do you think your friends are going to be?

Extremely jealous……..their loss, my gain!

No…I just want to get there now!!!!

What are you most looking forward to in Australia?

I look forward to experiencing a unique culture and lifestyle.

What do you hope to achieve/ learn on your internship?

I hope to learn as much as I can about the firm itself and the industry that its in. I hope to experience something that only a handful have experienced before.

What do you think this internship/ placement will add to your CV?

I think that this internship will add a new dimension to my CV that is absent on others. It will show that I relish new challenges and show my ability to adapt to any situation without any major problems.

Why are you travelling to Australia for your internship?

I have always wanted to travel to Australia but never had the chance. I think this is the perfect opportunity to combine my career and personal hobbies.

How jealous do you think your friends are going to be?

I think all my friends are going to be quite jealous as many of them ! are having trouble finding placements and just because of the fact that I will be in Australia will make them very jealous.

Summer Internships

This will be my first trip to Australia. I look forward to living in a new city, discovering a new culture and I am also eager to learn how business works in Australia.

During my internship, I hope to gain the relevant skills and practical work experience in order to work within the conference production sector. This will make my CV stand out and enhance my chances of getting a graduate job in the UK.

I study International Business, therefore it is important for me to show future employers that I can live and work internationally. An opportunity like this will enable me to not only get a head start on my future career, but will also allow me to have the whole travelling experience too.

I want to make the most of it, so in my free time I would like to do a skydive and also travel around Australia or maybe visit New Zealand. I can’t wait! I hope this will be an amazing life changing experience.

I love travelling and I’m very excited to meet new people and explore the diverse and natural beauty of the country.

I hope to gain more practical experience in my field and built on my previous skills and knowledge. Furthermore I look forward to facing new challenges and learn from new tasks and people. Due to my strong interest in culture, I also hope to gain a more profound understanding of the local business mentality and approach.

I have always thrived to develop an international CV with diversified skills. I think this internship will add to this whilst giving it a stronger focus through a more in-depth experience in my field, which should give the CV a more competitive edge.

Why are you travelling to Australia for your internship?

Australia fascinates me! An internship in Sidney will not only place me right in the centre of Australians innovative and international economy, but will also give me the opportunity to immerse in its diverse and dynamic cultural and social scene.

How jealous do you think your friends are going to be?

All my friends that have visited Australia have completely fallen in love with it and will definitely come and visit!

I am a graduating university this year studying a BA Hons in Creative Advertising and would of been looking for an internship in order to gain some junior experience, however i found Intern Options and have always wanted to travel to Australia at the same time but never had the time so I thought i’d apply so i can kill two birds with 1 stone! Gain an Internship in an Advertising Agency AND travel at the same time before its too late!!

I love my course so i am REALLY looking forward to working within a proper Advertising Agency and i am hoping it will help me decide which role i would like to take on in future i.e a copywriter, a creative, art directing or accounts managing.

What are you most looking forward to in Australia?

I am most looking forward to working in a real Advertising Agency in Australia!!! Although it should be TRAVELLING Australia i am as excited and more keen to start work in something i love however that is not to say i won’t be incredibly psyched to see the sights around Australia on my days off where things are completely different to England!!!

What do you hope to achieve/ learn on your internship?

Develop skills in Art Direction and Copywriting, learn to manage time and deadlines whilst carrying out fast pace work. Broaden my way of thinking by experiencing new things during my travels around Australia.

Why are you travelling to Australia for your internship?

I am looking forward to experiencing life on the other side of the world particularly certain things UK aren’t able to offer such as wild animals, the infamous Aussie bbq’s, Vegemite, surf and sun!

What are you most looking forward to in Australia?

I am most looking forward to the nice weather, learning to surf, spending christmas on the beach, meeting loads of cool new people and just generally experiencing a different way of life.

What do you hope to achieve/ learn on your internship?

I am hoping to return all highly employable, with proper experience in working in a design job.

What do you think this internship/ placement will add to your CV?

Not only will this internship add experience to my CV, but it will be something that will stand out to employers, as going to work in a foreign country is something that not that many people will have done. It will hopefully show that I am motivated and not afraid to go out of my comfort zone.

Why are you travelling to Australia for your internship?

Australia is somewhere that I have always wanted to go to, and would have been somewhere i probably would have liked to travel around in the next years anyway, so it seemed like a plan to do something productive in terms of future job prospects whilst I’m out there.

How jealous do you think your friends are going to be?

My friends are all majorly jeolous and are currently fighting it out about who is getting to stow away in my suitcase.

Anything else you can think of?

One thing that I am worried about concerning my trip is the spider situation in Australia. Lets just say that there will be lots of screaming involved if one jumps out on me.

haha love this comment, one thing to remember is they are way more scared of you than you are of them (hard to believe I know). But you can get a pest free plugin that emits a high frequency that keeps all crawly things out of your flat/ house, check it out when you get to Australia. We use one on the Gold Coast and never have any spiders inside!

Stephan started his internhip at the beginning of July. Stephan has been kind enough to send us feedback on how he is going in Sydney.

I am doing quite well and have been quite busy with work. Life in Sydney is amazing and so are the people.  There is loads to do and you never run out of things to do either.

Though my first few weeks in Sydney and at work went fast as well as confusing due to the fact that it was a completely new city to me. I did indeed get at ease very quickly and made loads of friends within the first few days. Sydney is quite international and you always make friends.

As for my work and the internship company I really like it, because it is an international environment which gives loads of opportunities and challenges. My colleagues really are nice and have made me feel at home. The whole business itself and the tourist (backpackers ) is a great place to meet and encounter new people.

The three things I’ve learnt at my work place is to always help out our guest in any possible, always serve our guests and to smile at all times since it reflects the business you work for.

As for applying theory to my work experience/internship its been a bit difficult at first, but over time it gets easier and easier. I haven’t thought about what I would do different and don’t think I will for the moment since I like my internship a lot.

The most touristic thing I’ve done so far is most likely the Sydney Tower and the Sydney Wildlife as well as Aquarium.
