Australia Working Holiday Jobs Programme – Update

Hope 2010 has started well for you.

With applications for the Australia working holiday jobs programme coming in very fast in 2010, we have gone from 20 applications to 40 for the programme in January. We still have around 30 places available to start in June and July this year however.

The majority of these are in Margaret River in Western Australia to start in July.

Australia Working Holiday Travel Jobs – A guaranteed/ assured job

What I wanted to do in this update, is give you some information on Margaret River, which is our most popular destination out of the three available.

The reason for this is:

The climate is the best

It is close to over 30 fantastic beaches

The town of Margaret River is quite a tourist town, so lots to do

You can travel the Great Ocean road back to the east coast (Amazing)

Climate

Margaret River enjoys a Mediterranean-style climate. When you arrive in Australia to start your guaranteed work placement, it will be winter. Of the three locations, Margaret River will be the best. The temperature will be between 8 and 16 degrees and it is very rare to have a frost.

A lot of people question why we start you in winter… Well the answer is when you see the beaches in Australia, you won’t want to do anything but go to the beach in summer. This way you get your 3 months of paid work out of the way, you have saved some good money and can do some travel at the start of the Australian summer.

So what’s the big deal? Well every year tens of thousands of UK, Irish, French, German etc people between the age of 18 and 30 head out to Australia on their Working Holiday Visa.

Not many of them think about how they will find paid work when they are there, or even if there is any paid work around at the moment. Probably because most don’t know where to start looking.

This programme is about a Guaranteed Job before you leave your home country for Australia. This means you have the security of a paid job for 3 months (possibly longer), but this is not the biggest benefit, oh no…

The biggest benefit is that if you complete 3 months of the programme you will be eligible for a second Australian Working Holiday Visa… You heard correctly, you can get a second Australian Working Holiday visa. This applied to visa subclass 417, so excludes USA applicants unfortunately.

Horticulture Jobs Programme – Confirmed Applicants

The applications to start in June or July 2010 for their guaranteed working holiday jobs are rolling in. On this page we will be putting up a short profile of the first people who have applied for the June or July intake on the Horticulture Travel Jobs Programme for South Australia.

“It would have been good to know who else had applied and who I will be working with so maybe we can find some travel buddies”.

Well you ask, you get and this year we will get all of our applicants up on our website with a photo, brief paragraph on your travel plans and what country they are travelling to Australia from. We will not give out our applicants contact details on the website as we take security of personal data very seriously.

Travel plans: My plans are to go with my friend and possibly my sister, we head out to Bangkok in Jan 2010 then hopefully get to Cambodia straight away where we plan to travel around Asia until begining of May where we then arrive in Perth. We havent scheduled any flights but have paid to get to New Zealand and Buenos Aries. In all we are away for one year:)

My experience traveling in a foreign country is that you avoid all the touristy places and instead seek out remote beaches and historical landmarks.
