Zach applied in March for his Summer 2010 Internship in Sydney, Australia. Zach has focused on graphic design within his studies in at University of Montevallo and the University of Alabama at Birmingham for the last four years.
Zach has some experience as a freelance designer in Birmingham and has lived abroad extensively. He is looking to combine these two areas in a great summer placement in Sydney, Australia.
Zach has provided some comments on why he choose Australia and what he hopes to get out of his experience:
I’m really down with the folks from Australia that I know here in the states and they’ve done a pretty good job on convincing me that Sydney is where its at. I’ve been around a little bit and have yet to make it down under so I’m stoked to get to catch life from a different angle. I’m a big city kind of guy and from what I can tell there are a lot of different kinds of folks living and working there.
I study graphic design and film/theatre at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I am really looking to get some insight into the creative process of a different perspective. Life is art. There are correlations between culture, problems, solutions, process.
Its a great spot and there is a lot to live and learn from this city, yet I am really looking to bounce ideas and come up with creative solutions to creative problems with the people I meet in Sydney. Life is about the relationships you have with the people you meet and share life with.
