So what’s been happening on the Internship Blog in the last month? We have not been able upload profiles of our new interns fast enough in February, we have had that many applications!

We still have around 20 students to get up on the website for Hospitality and Tourism, so watch out for those profiles over the next two weeks. We have been placing a lot of summer internship and Placement year students as well.

Available Tourism Internship

Available internship: Combined Ski field & Tourism Attraction

Each year Intern Options places two people into a combined 4 month ski field placement and then a consecutive 6 month tourism attraction in Queenstown, New Zealand.

We have filled one of these roles this year and we have one last placement still available.

If you are a mad keen snowboarder or skier then this is the Tourism placement for you. The ski field is one of New Zealand’s best and it is situated in the Southern Alps.

Your second placement will be into Queenstown (not far from ski field) and it will be in Queenstown’s largest tourism attraction.

We will guarantee both placements before you leave home.

The Sydney and Melbourne programme is currently our most popular – offering students the chance to gain valuable international experience that will make their CVs shine to employers. All positions are available for between 10 and 26 weeks and are unpaid.

This Sydney based fashion company wholesales and retails high end fashion garments and bridal gowns. They are focused on building their fashion brand.

In Sydney the company has access to a wealth of resources- particularly fabrics and the highest quality hand beading contractor whom holds a contract with Chanel and other international brands.

We are one of Sydney’s top Golf Clubs, rated #37 of Australia’s Best 60 Public Access Golf Courses and is regarded by many as Sydney’s most spectacular coastal golf course, with ocean vistas from every hole.

Intern will be involved in marketing to the corporate golf market and involved in the smooth running of events.

NEW Marketing Internship (Large Sydney Retailer)
This Australian based company established itself as Japan’s first manufacturer of optical glass in 1941. Since then they have diversified into several business areas including Electronics, Optics, Photonics, Crystal and Vision Care. They now have establishments all over Europe, America, Asia and Australia. The companies Head Office Australia is based in Sydney and has Laboratories both in Sydney and Perth.

NEW Financial Investment & Banking Internship
The scope of this business ranges from financial advice and estate planning, insurance, mortgage broking and accounting through to stockbroking and advice about alternative investments. For this reason there are two many possibilities to list intern duties, but the opportunities are endless.

There are currently two Intern Options interns with this company who are both loving the work environment and the wide range of learning outcomes available to them.

Graphic Design Internship – Job Description
This is one of the many graphic design internships we have available at the moment. If you’re looking for experience in a wide range of graphic design duties then this is a great position to work in and it will look very good on your CV also.

Magazine Journalism Internship – Job Description
This is a new internship working for Australasia’s leading publication for backpackers and independent travelers. In response to the growing backpacker and independent traveler market, on October 3, 2005 we relaunched as a weekly, national publication to increase the travel industry coverage while bringing travelers more travel information, more often.

HR Internship - Job Description (Sydney)
This is a new internship description on the website for an HR or Human Resources internship in a busy HR department in a large Sydney company. This would suit a graduate or an intern looking for their first bit or really good experience on their CV.

HR/ Human Resources Internship – Job Description
This company is a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia, which has been operating since 1947. The company services all types of industries and businesses, from technical operations through to manufacturing, professional services, government business, and retail – large, medium and small.

With 85 permanent staff and managing approximately 65 contractors, the HR team is always busy. As an intern with us you will get experience in a busy HR team implementing and managing new employees induction as well as maintaining current employee details and contracts.
