Horticulture Jobs Programme – Confirmed Applicants
The applications to start in June or July 2010 for their guaranteed working holiday jobs are rolling in. On this page we will be putting up a short profile of the first people who have applied for the June or July intake on the Horticulture Travel Jobs Programme for South Australia.

Well you ask, you get and this year we will get all of our applicants up on our website with a photo, brief paragraph on your travel plans and what country they are travelling to Australia from. We will not give out our applicants contact details on the website as we take security of personal data very seriously.

Travel plans: My plans are to go with my friend and possibly my sister, we head out to Bangkok in Jan 2010 then hopefully get to Cambodia straight away where we plan to travel around Asia until begining of May where we then arrive in Perth. We havent scheduled any flights but have paid to get to New Zealand and Buenos Aries. In all we are away for one year:)

My experience traveling in a foreign country is that you avoid all the touristy places and instead seek out remote beaches and historical landmarks. I don’t have anything planned exactly but I know I want to use the weekends for traveling and I want to go snorkeling and surfing.

Thanks for your feedback and as long as you hold a passport from the USA and you’re between the age of 18 and 30, then you are eligible for this programme and we sent a couple of guys from the USA to Australia last year on this programme.

Hi!
I’m really interested in the Horticulture intern for this year. I understand that I need to pay for a visa, and £399 to yourselves. Can you help me by suggesting how much money I would need; say for flights and anything else to get started. I’m trying to work out if I can save enough in time, as I’m in a position to pay the visa and £399 now, just not sure how much else I’ll need.

Thanks for your comment and we have had a massive response to this years programme now we have reduced the price even more!
I’m assuming you are going for 12 months, so approx costs to get you out to Australia will be:
Flight – between £700 and £900 return
Insurance & visa – £299
Once you are in Austraila, your wage will more than cover your accommodation and other living costs.
You will also need to prove you have enough funds to support yourself while you are in Australia. This is asked for sometimes when you enter the country. For 12 months they say approx A$5000, which is around £2600 at the current exchange rate. This can either be in your bank account (statement no longer than 3 months old) or in your parents account with a letter from them saying they will support you to the amount of ___

Hi there, all of the guaranteed jobs are working on a vineyard in Australia. The duties will be pruning vines on the vineyards. If you want more work after the inital placement we can look at more work further north in Australia. This work will be harvest work, picking and packing mangos, avocados and bananas.
